Look at the whole picture
A useful study budget covers more than tuition. Create separate categories for accommodation, everyday living, transport, travel, insurance and application-related expenses. Record the currency beside each amount.
Compare like for like
When comparing programmes, check what each quoted fee includes. Consider the length of the course and the likely cost of living in the location. Use a worksheet to record estimates, their sources and when you checked them.
Keep scholarships in perspective
Treat scholarship research as a separate task with its own eligibility checks and deadlines. Prepare a funding plan that remains workable if an award is not offered. Never assume an application means funding has been secured.
Allow for the unexpected
Build a contingency into your plan for changes in costs and unplanned expenses. Discuss funding responsibilities with anyone supporting you, and decide how payments and day-to-day spending will be managed.
Ask clear questions
Request a breakdown of costs before committing to any service or payment. Reign Study Hub can help you organise the questions to ask as you compare your study options.
